GripMatix releases new Citrix MP

At Squared Up we frequently get asked about Citrix monitoring and dashboards, especially by customers who aren’t paying for the premium ‘Citrix Platinum’ license and so don’t have access to SCOM management pack from Citrix. That’s why we were very excited to hear that there is a new SCOM management pack for monitoring Citrix.

Citrix Monitoring: How to properly monitor Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops stacks?

Citrix provides a tool called Citrix Director for monitoring Citrix Virtual App and Desktops (CVAD), formerly known as Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp. While this is a great tool for providing day to day end user support with real-time health information about CVAD software components and user sessions, there are a few important differences compared to an Enterprise Monitoring Platform, such as Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM). Looking Back At The First SCOM Management Pack Development Training In Amsterdam

On May 15 & 16 we hosted the first SCOM Management Pack Development training in Amsterdam. It was an interesting and exciting course as for a first timer in our region, all slots were sold out in the first three weeks after the announcement.

Reset Dependency Monitors

Resetting the monitor that triggered an alert is the best option in SCOM as it will allow the monitor to alert again, if needed. Working programmatically this is easy for alerts that are generated from a Unit Monitor. A Dependency Monitor can be more challenging, which is what we’ll address here. To properly reset your Dependency Monitor you will need to find the underlying Unit Monitor(s) and reset them.
