A common theme running through a variety of management techniques and methodologies, everything from Agile to Lean to Six Sigma is the Pareto Principle – also known as the 80/20 rule.

Ransomware is a strain of malware that blocks users (or a company) from accessing their personal data or apps on infected iOS, iPadOS, and Android mobile devices, macOS laptops, Windows personal computers and servers, and Linux servers. Then the exploit demands cryptocurrency as payment to unblock the locked or encrypted data and apps. This form of cyber extortion has been increasing in frequency and ferocity over the past several years.

We have been doing this organically, we rolled out our Ivanti Neurons hyper-automated platform last July, and we have also added to the platform’s capabilities and value with acquisitions.

Ransomware started making more headlines in 2016, but it was treated largely as a nuisance – not a tangible, resource-worthy threat. Fast forward to 2021 and ransomware has graduated to the big leagues, buoyed by a pandemic-fueled, hasty scramble toward decentralized workforces and digital everything. But this rising threat can’t be entirely blamed on the pandemic.

It’s no secret that the past year and a half has been challenging for all departments across organizations. One unsung hero? IT. IT is quite literally responsible for keeping the lights on in a work environment that has shifted primarily online.

Covid made the hypothetical necessity of IT risk planning a reality. Many organizations responded to the immediate need for remote workforces by adding more VPN licenses. But while adding more VPN capacity solved the problem of resource access, it also led to network bottlenecks and application latencies.

As you may have heard, Ivanti was selected by the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST’s) National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) to participate as a collaborator in its Implementing a Zero Trust Architecture project.

What can I say further about Ivanti’s mobile threat defense (MTD) solution for iOS, iPadOS and Android devices that has not already been mentioned in any of my previous blogs and quick video demos? If I was to state where Ivanti has a clear advantage over other unified endpoint management competitors, it is with Ivanti’s MTD solution.
