It’s that time of the year again as re:Invent is almost upon us Here is a list of the serverless-related announcements so far that you should know about.

Kubecon 2023 was more than just another conference to check off my list. It marked my first chance to work in the booth with my incredible Kentik colleagues. It let me dive deep into the code, community, and culture of Kubernetes. It was a moment when members of an underrepresented group met face-to-face and experienced an event previously not an option.

If you missed KubeCon North America 2023 in Chicago, or you were there and spent more time in the “hallway tracks,” you may have missed some of the big news that came out of the show. We covered the big happenings in the open source cloud native and observability realm in the latest episode of OpenObservability Talks!

I went to my first Kubecon ever this last week. If you’re not familiar with Kubecon, it is a convention that is around Kubernetes, a Cloud Native Community Foundation (CNCF) open source project. With this being my first Kubecon ever, it was an adventure all around building community, education, kindness, and of course, a love for Kubernetes technology.

As another year at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon (CNC) draws to a close, the latest installment in Chicago might be one of our favorite ones so far! With talks having an ever greater focus on the impact of sustainability and inclusion within the community, we loved getting involved in the conversation about how we can make the cloud a better solution for all.

As autumn graced the vibrant city of Chicago, I had the distinct opportunity to immerse myself in the heart of innovation and camaraderie at the CNCF’s Kubecon North America conference. Over the span of four remarkable days, from Nov 6-9, I was fortunate enough to walk alongside the many enthusiasts, contributors and organizers of open source and cloud native communities.

The sun has officially set on KubeCon North America 2023, but the CNCF's flagship event has left a lasting impression on us. Roughly 9,000 Kubernetes enthusiasts descended on Chicago's McCormick Place West to see the K8s community's latest innovations. DevOps professionals, engineers, and architects alike were eager to share and boost their K8s knowledge. Overall, HAProxy joined over 250 other sponsor organizations to celebrate open-source, cloud-native technologies over four activity-packed days.

KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2023 is just around the corner, and the OSS and cloud native community is eagerly anticipating the event, which will take place November 6 - 9 in Chicago.

The most noticeable takeaway from All Things Open 2023 was how visibly and demonstrably people were there for the event itself. Not to check a box or browse the swag but to be together, show their support of open source, and glean every last bit of knowledge they could.

In the first part of our 2023 PromCon recap, we spent OpenObservability Talks exploring the Perses open source project. We found heavy users of open source Grafana who found themselves grappling with issues arising from managing a vast number of dashboards, and the need to manage dashboards as code in a GitOps fashion.
