Dear SCOM community, It's been 8 weeks since we launched the free Business Continuity edition (BCE) of our SCOM dashboarding product, and I’m glad to see that many community members have taken us up on the offer. The early feedback we received was encouraging and heartening, and we are happy to have helped ease the pressure on IT teams during these uncertain times, in however small a way.

If you’re reading this article, chances are you’re about to start moving into Azure and want to get your cost control right from the start, or you’re already on your journey and are running into problems getting a clear view of where you’re spending your money. Moving into Azure, or any other cloud, brings with it a new set of challenges that you just don’t face on-prem, and the big one is that pretty much everything incurs its own running cost.

In some scenarios, you might want to have the possibility to get notified if all of a sudden, a large volume of alerts get raised inside Operations Manager. It could be that a large amount of alerts gets raised with low severity that usually isn't a problem on an individual occurrence. Maybe a VMware datastore latency alert is configured as a warning because they might fire off during backup windows. But what if all of the datastores all of a sudden indicates there is a latency issue and raises an alert.
