We're very excited to release AppSignal for Phoenix 2.1, which adds automatic instrumentation for LiveView through Telemetry. You can now receive performance and error insights for your LiveView, without manually instrumenting each of its methods.

In this post, we will address the common monitoring use case of filtering metrics within the observIQ OpenTelemetry (OTEL) collector. Whether the metrics are deemed unnecessary, or they are filtered for security concerns, the process is fairly straightforward. For our sample environment, we will use MySQL on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8. The destination exporter will be to Google Cloud Operations, but the process is exporter agnostic.

Back in November 2020 Apple’s M1 chip was introduced and as the end users moved forward to M1 based Macs it became mandatory to build applications that are compatible with the new technology.
